This is the night it must happen. I asked her out and she said yes. I really feel this is the right thing. In just a couple of days she has changed everything for me.
Tonight I'm going to tell her everything she means to me, and then I'll listen.
This must be it.
Wish me luck, I'm leaving to pick her up now.
So we went out to a nice quiet restaurant. And we sat there, and after about 5 minutes of silence, she looked at me and spoke:
Beach Girl: You know...you really hurt me.
Me: I know. I'm sorry.
Beach Girl: It's ok. I had been thinking about you a lot lately. And you called me.
Me: I'm really glad I did.
Beach Girl: Do you remember one time at the beach...
Me: It was the last time we talked. I'm sorry.
Beach Girl: No. Not that time. Two nights, before that, we went to the beach, remember?
Me: I don't.
Beach Girl: You told me that whatever happened between us, that we would meet again at some point. You said that...
Me: I remember. I said that somehow we would end up together, that it was meant to be.
Beach Girl: Yes. And I believed you, even after all these years, I still thought about that and I knew that someday you'd come back into my life. Please promise me that this time you won't run out of it again?
Me: I promise.
And this time I knew I was telling the truth. Running all these years had brought me back to her, and I really felt that there was nowhere I'd rather be.
